In Santiago, the Chilean court decided to place legendary Chilean footballer and former player of the clubs "Al-Ain" and "Al-Wahda" in the UAE, 40-year-old Jorge Valdivia under house arrest.
Jorge Valdivia was detained after police conducted a raid at his home and found dangerous narcotics. The police assert that the footballer is part of an organized crime group involved in drug trafficking.
"I am innocent and confident that the truth will ultimately prevail," said Jorge Valdivia after the announcement of the injunction. "I trust in the justice of the court and hope for a quick resolution of this misunderstanding."
