Myriam Hernández Makes History at Viña del Mar Festival

Myriam Hernández made history by becoming the first Chilean to receive the Platinum Gaviota at the Viña del Mar International Festival. She also announced her upcoming performance at the Estadio Nacional.

Singer Myriam Hernández made history by becoming the first Chilean to receive the Gaviota de Platino at the Viña del Mar International Festival. This award places her on the exclusive list of recognized artists that includes names like Luis Miguel, Isabel Pantoja, Lucho Gatica, and Los Jaivas.

Upon receiving the award, the city's mayor, Macarena Ripamonti, congratulated her and highlighted her ability to connect with the demanding Viña audience. Hernández, visibly emotional, thanked her parents, friends, musicians, the audience, and her children, who accompanied her on stage.

The singer delighted the 15,000 spectators with performances of her greatest hits such as 'Ay, amor,' 'Huele a peligro,' and 'Herida.' The audience, engaged and excited, sang along with her and enthusiastically received her gesture of unfurling a Chilean flag at the end of her performance.

The Gaviota de Platino award at the Viña del Mar Festival is recognition of the artists' careers and their impact on music. Previously, this award has been given to figures such as Luis Miguel, Isabel Pantoja, Lucho Gatica, and Los Jaivas.

Myriam Hernández, one of the most beloved Chilean artists, returned this year to Quinta Vergara after releasing her latest album 'Tauro.' Her 'Invincible' tour has taken her to thirteen countries in Latin America, the United States, and Europe. In April 2024, she was honored as a Fundamental Figure of Chilean Music by the Chilean Society of Authors and Musical Interpreters.
