Dzumhur advances to quarter-finals after defeating Navone

In the ATP Chile, Mariano Navone was eliminated by Damir Dzumhur with a final score of 6-4, 3-6, and 6-3. Despite the pressure, Dzumhur managed to stay calm and sealed his victory after wasting three match points. With this defeat, Navone bids farewell to the tournament in the second round, while Dzumhur advances to the quarterfinals.

In a closely contested first set, both players held their serve until Dzumhur achieved a crucial break in the fifth game, which proved decisive. Although Navone tried to respond, the Bosnian closed the set at 6-4. In the second set, the Argentine showed his best version by overturning a 1-3 deficit and winning it 6-3, bringing the match to a third set.

In the decisive set, the match remained balanced until 3-3, at which point Dzumhur took advantage of an opportunity to break Navone's serve in the eighth game. Despite the confidence he had after beating Shevchenko in the first round, Navone could not maintain the necessary solidity to prevail in this match.

Dzumhur is now waiting for the winner of the Argentine clash between Sebastián Báez and Francisco Comesaña in the quarterfinals. Other matches in the tournament include Camilo Ugo Carabelli against the Brazilian Thiago Monteiro and Federico Coria against the local Alejandro Tabilo.
