Mulino and Kast Boost Panama-Chile Cooperation

Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino and Chile's President-elect José Antonio Kast met at the Cousiño Palace in Santiago, Chile. Mulino stated that Chile is very important for Panama as the first Latin American user of the Canal. He proposed a binational commission to manage a common agenda on security, drug trafficking, counter-terrorism, and money laundering. The meeting aims to foster alliances for job creation and added value in Panama. The bilateral relationship extends beyond commerce, opening doors to mutual investments in infrastructure, logistics, and technology, leveraging Panama's strategic position with the Canal and Chilean ports to boost trade in the Pacific. "It was a pleasure to be with a friend," said Mulino, who will attend Kast's inauguration ceremony on March 11th.
