At a port on the Pacific, authorities seized 1,180 drug packages that were found hidden inside a container from Chile.
The operation carried out allowed the discovery of a large amount of illicit substance camouflaged inside the cargo. According to the officials in charge of the seizure, a total of 1,180 drug packages were found.
"This seizure is the result of meticulous and coordinated work by the authorities who are constantly monitoring activities in the ports to prevent drug trafficking," declared an official spokesperson.
It was highlighted that the seized drugs had a final destination in a country in the region, and it is presumed that their value on the black market would be considerably high. The investigation to determine those responsible for this smuggling attempt is ongoing.
