Key points of the elections in Chile

President's vote: President Gabriel Boric voted in Punta Arenas, walking on foot from his home alongside his daughter Violeta. Boric showed emotion as he cast his vote accompanied by his daughter.

Polling hours and closing: Polling stations will be open from 08:00 to 18:00, and will only close if there is no one left in line wishing to vote.

Certificates and justifications: Carabineros (Chilean police) reported 38,000 certificates from people who cannot vote because they are far from their polling station. Of these, 30,000 have already been validated, although the system is saturated due to high traffic.
