Chilean right-wing candidate Evelyn Matthei conceded defeat in the presidential election, finishing in fourth place. "We are going to José Antonio Kast's command center to congratulate him properly," Matthei stated in a public declaration after the official results were announced. She also thanked democrats and 'amarrillos' (yellows) who took up the challenge and joined her candidacy. "Our homeland demands real solutions and the capacity for dialogue," she added.
