Buenos Aires, December 14 (NA) – At 6:00 PM local time (the same time as in Argentina), polls closed in Chile for the presidential runoff election, where the communist candidate Jeannette Jara and the far-right José Antonio Kast are competing. According to the Argentine News Agency, more than 15 million citizens were eligible to vote, the same number as in the first round. Jara and Kast, representatives of two opposing extremes, are vying to succeed the leftist Gabriel Boric at the La Moneda Palace (Government House).
